- ➤ Bibb County School District has a $5.5M gap for fiscal 2026 after staff found errors in budgeted costs (including $2.4M for bus drivers) in December; Superintendent Dan Sims said a budget amendment will be proposed in January while board members will review the issue at a meeting Thursday at the Professional Learning Center. - ➤ Volunteer master gardeners from Bibb County Cooperative Extension recommend planting trees and shrubs in fall and winter for strong-rooted growth. They will host a vegetable gardening class at the Washington Library (6 p.m.) on Jan. 13 to teach proper soil and seed techniques. The Macon Melody
