- ➤ At an Economic Outlook luncheon in Macon, experts noted weather risks, labor shortages and a pending government shutdown (Jan. 30) will challenge Middle Georgia’s economy in 2026. They said local improvements (such as redevelopment and strong industries) could provide some stability. 41 WMGT

- ➤ GDOT has delayed the I-16/I-75 traffic shifts due to weather, with changes beginning 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30. Drivers in Macon should plan for ramp shifts and lane closures as crews work overnight. 41 WMGT
- ➤ Monroe County’s EMA is boosting crews and emergency vehicles to prepare for potential winter weather this weekend by adding two ambulances, extra engines, and a warming shelter on standby while residents are advised to avoid icy roads and practice generator safety. 13WMAZ
