- ➤ A groundbreaking took place today for improvements to Softball Field No. 7 at Carolyn Crayton Park, with work expected to complete by summer. The nearly $1 million project will upgrade lighting & repairs to host larger tournaments in the community. WGXA

- ➤ On Wednesday, Feb. 18, a cat fell 50 feet into a well and was rescued by Macon-Bibb County Fire Department using rope rescue techniques; the animal was turned over to Animal Control by 12:30 p.m. WGXA

- ➤ Douglass Theatre marks 105 years with a month-long lineup of Black History Month events in Macon; the historic venue offers concerts, films, and a Homecoming Week (Feb. 14–22) that highlights its cultural legacy. 41 WMGT
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Visit Macon reported that the Christmas Light Extravaganza boosted local spending to nearly $7.4 million as 723,000 non-residents visited downtown in 2025, and it plans to welcome film crews, international soccer fans + summer pickleball events to further boost tourism. The Macon Newsroom
