- ➤ Local organizers are finalizing plans for the 44th Cherry Blossom Festival, a 10-day event beginning Friday, March 20, that will feature new downtown additions, interactive maps & a festival app to help plan visits. - ➤ Country music star Travis Tritt will perform at Macon City Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 26; tickets go on sale on March 6 at 10 a.m. & fans are encouraged to secure seats soon. 41 WMGT
- ➤ Downtown Macon will become a canvas on March 14 from noon to 4 p.m. as Graffiti Wall Bomb Happy Hour transforms six alleyways and plazas with murals honoring local figures (a project led by Macon Pride, Ocmulgee Artist Guild, and The 567 Center for Renewal) during Public Spaces Week. WGXA

- ➤ Macon-based Farah & Farah is awarding five high school seniors free laptops through its Empowering Greatness Scholarship program to support college readiness, with eligible Title 1 students required to submit an essay. Applications are open until Tuesday, Mar. 31, and winners will be announced in April and May. 41 WMGT

- ➤ Residents at Crystal Lake Apartments report mold, collapsing floors + bullet concerns and have urged county leaders to inspect the building conditions following a similar suit at another complex. They expect swift county action to improve safety soon. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Senate Bill 399 (the Mason Sells AED Coordination Act) will require schools, businesses, universities, and government agencies to register AED locations with 911 to speed up emergency response; the bill passed unanimously and mandates AED dispatcher training by Jan. 1, 2027. 13WMAZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Public Health released food service inspection scores for Middle Georgia restaurants conducted from February 23 to February 27. Several establishments in Macon and surrounding counties earned perfect scores while a few received unsatisfactory marks. 41 WMGT
- ➤ Atrium Health Navicent Wellness Center offers two free visits with indoor workout options for allergy season and will host the Cherry Blossom Road Race 5K at 8:30 a.m. March 21. 41 WMGT
