- ➤ Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful received a $50K grant from the James M. Cox Foundation on Thursday to finish renovations at Fort Hill Community Park. The project will add picnic tables, park benches, and exercise equipment (helping improve amenities and address health issues) for the community. WGXA
- ➤ The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department has served its iconic pink pancakes at the Cherry Blossom Festival for 35 years using a secret recipe that keeps the special ingredient locked away—avoiding any hint of medium rare. Over the next two Saturdays, off-duty firefighters and volunteers will serve pancakes at Luther Williams Field from 7-10:30 a.m. for $8 per adult and $4 per child—raising funds for nonprofits meeting local children’s medical needs. - ➤ A 37-year-old man died after a head-on crash on Mercer University Drive near Grosso Avenue early Thursday morning — the accident involved a Dodge Durango and a Hyundai Elantra with three other passengers taken to Atrium Navicent Health in critical but stable condition. WGXA

- ➤ Pet Sounds Live is happening today at 8 p.m. at Capitol Theatre—where a live band will play the full Pet Sounds album along with clips of interviews and old videos. The 80-minute show will also add extra hits and musicians from Nashville—giving Macon a living rock and roll documentary experience. The Macon Melody
- ➤ The Otis Redding Foundation held a ribbon-cutting for the new ORCA center in downtown Macon on March 18. The 15,000 square-foot facility includes creative labs, private lesson rooms, an amphitheater and recording studio—its grand opening with art and music activities will take place tomorrow.
