- ➤ On Wednesday, Macon began demolishing a former secretary of state office at 237 Coliseum Drive to clear a site for redevelopment project (a $580 million initiative) that will add retail, housing and infrastructure improvements to East Macon; city officials expect the upgrades to finish between mid next year and 2028. 41 WMGT

- ➤ She Keene’s exhibit reSISTERS opens during First Friday at the Macon Arts Alliance gallery, 486 First St., with a reception from 4-7 p.m., showcasing art honoring women’s voting rights heroes. - ➤ Today, central Georgians gathered at the Museum of Arts and Sciences to watch the Artemis II launch celebration. The event offered live updates & expert talks on the historic space mission. 13WMAZ

- ➤ Bibb County School District hosted a community outreach at Harrell’s & Son’s to discuss truancy and literacy issues, gathering feedback from parents. - ➤ The Department of Justice announced a $3M settlement to ease burdens for Georgia military families & improve benefits; the funds will help ease financial stress as support measures take effect. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Monroe County has launched a new emergency alert system called Hyperreach to send timely notifications during weather and emergency events. Residents can register online, by phone & by text to receive alerts and stay informed. 41 WMGT
- ➤ The U.S. Census Bureau released its 2025 population estimates in March showing that Bibb and Jones counties added fewer than 900 new residents between 2023 and 2025, while neighboring Monroe & Houston counties grew nearly 5% and 4% respectively in Middle Georgia. The Macon Melody

- ➤ Stratford’s high school soccer team improved to 11-0 after beating Tattnall 10-0 Tuesday night with strong team play. The Eagles outscored opponents 93-3 and showed a balanced effort from experienced seniors and young players. The Macon Melody
- ➤ Mercer baseball hit three fourth inning homers, including Eli Stephens’ grand slam, to win 14-4 against Kennesaw State Tuesday in Macon, snapping a three-game skid & boosting its record to 22-7 as coach Craig Gibson praised the timely offense. The Macon Melody
