EDUCATION NEWS

  • Georgia lawmakers passed a bill that will ban cell phone use in public high schools during school hours. If Governor Kemp signs it, schools will begin enforcing the rule in the 2027 to 2028 school year with districts given until July 1, 2027 to prepare.  13WMAZ
  • Students at Turner Woods Elementary in Gray planted a food forest on Wednesday, Apr. 1 with guidance from Shaome Cooperative to learn food security and sustainability skills. The project will provide ongoing hands-on lessons and fresh produce for future learning.  WGXA

  • Native azaleas are blooming now at the garden beside the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, showcasing pink, white & yellow blossoms that support local wildlife.
