ACCIDENTS NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ During a Thursday board meeting, Macon Water Authority members argued over ending live social media coverage, a confusing purchasing card policy, and needed repairs at Amerson Water Treatment Plant—issues included broken filters and a sludge-filled settling tank that put the plant permit at risk. - ➤ The state Senate passed two bills on Friday that change how speed cameras work in school zones. HB 651 keeps the cameras legal but limits enforcement to school days and requires warning signs with flashing yellow lights — and HB 225 phases out the cameras with new contracts banned after July 1, 2027 and full repeal on July 1, 2028 — while both bills must be reapproved by the House before midnight. 41 WMGT
