Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday at 1:30 a.m. near Monroe Ave and Lincoln Street in Macon—officers said a man was shot in the roadway and taken immediately to Atrium Health Hospital in critical condition—investigators are trying to determine what led to the incident.
Police said a wellness check at 6:45 p.m. on Friday uncovered a stabbing incident at Perry mobile home park that left four people dead—one of them a 2-year-old.
Monroe County Deputies caught Justin Tocknell on April 5 after a 3-minute chase when he refused to pull over—he now faces charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, and carjacking tied to a Walmart incident in Stockbridge.
A Bibb County Sheriff's Office report said that 31-year-old Johnny Arroyo Moss led police on a chase on Thursday morning after speeding on Forest Hill Road and then crashed into a utility pole on Vineville Avenue, which closed the road for about seven hours and caused a power outage for nearby businesses—he was arrested on charges including reckless driving and felony fleeing and taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment.
A male victim remained in critical condition at Atrium Health Hospital after a gunshot wound from an aggravated assault that occurred Saturday before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Lincoln Street in Bibb County—deputies continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with details to come forward.
Four people were shot in two separate incidents in Macon—one occurred Friday evening and the other happened early Saturday morning—and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating both.
