- ➤ A 68-year-old man died after a fire started in a home on South Lizella Road in Lizella, and Macon-Bibb Fire Chief Shane Edwards said the blaze began there. 13WMAZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday at 1:30 a.m. near Monroe Ave and Lincoln Street in Macon—officers said a man was shot in the roadway and taken immediately to Atrium Health Hospital in critical condition—investigators are trying to determine what led to the incident. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Police said a wellness check at 6:45 p.m. on Friday uncovered a stabbing incident at Perry mobile home park that left four people dead—one of them a 2-year-old. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Monroe County Deputies caught Justin Tocknell on April 5 after a 3-minute chase when he refused to pull over—he now faces charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, and carjacking tied to a Walmart incident in Stockbridge. WGXA
- ➤ A Bibb County Sheriff's Office report said that 31-year-old Johnny Arroyo Moss led police on a chase on Thursday morning after speeding on Forest Hill Road and then crashed into a utility pole on Vineville Avenue, which closed the road for about seven hours and caused a power outage for nearby businesses—he was arrested on charges including reckless driving and felony fleeing and taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment. 13WMAZ
- ➤ A male victim remained in critical condition at Atrium Health Hospital after a gunshot wound from an aggravated assault that occurred Saturday before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Monroe Avenue and Lincoln Street in Bibb County—deputies continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with details to come forward.
