On April 11 from noon to 3 p.m., the Macon Kid Spring Fling Market at Fort Hawkins (736 Emery Highway) will showcase 23 young vendors selling handmade crafts, accessories, food, and more.
Hosted by Little Sweeties Cakery and sponsored by local businesses, the event is open to the public.
Atrium Health Navicent’s Crescent House held a pinwheel planting ceremony on Wednesday with a county proclamation to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The event at 682 Hemlock Street showcased a national symbol for abuse prevention (a sign of protecting children’s innocence).
A pinwheel garden planting took place on April 8 at 10 a.m. at Atrium Health Navicent Crescent House to honor Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The blue pinwheels now remind the community of the need for safe childhoods, and local officials including Mayor Lester Miller attended.

A Jack in the Box is proposed for Gray Highway as Macon Vortex PropCo LLC seeks to convert the former Hardee's building into a drive-thru restaurant with 42 parking spaces.
The plan is set for review on May 11 at the Macon Mall.

Theatre Macon celebrated its 40th anniversary by opening the Annie and Sammy Dame Studio Theatre + a renovated 50-seat space on the second floor of its downtown building at 438 Cherry St. The venue will host 'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' from April 10-19, adding a stage for small productions.

ACE senior Sebastian Falduti drove in a walk-off hit that gave the Gryphons a 5-4 win over Bleckley County in nine innings on Tuesday.

Macon County's Morgan Cochran has signed to play basketball at South Carolina State and officially committed to the program.

Macon Mayhem will begin their first SPHL playoff series since 2021 today by hosting No. 1 seeded Peoria Rivermen at 7 p.m. at the Coliseum, with a best-of-three series that may extend to Sunday as fans join the watch party at Taco Mac.
