  • Josh Rogers, President & CEO at NewTown Macon, was honored with the Mary Means Leadership Award for his work in downtown revitalization—even though he passed away in November. Under his guidance, work on restoring old buildings and starting a Developer’s Academy led to over $1 billion in investment and more Black-owned businesses—an impact that still shapes downtown Macon today.  Middle Georgia Times
  • Macon residents can enjoy the Autism Rocks Music Festival at the Museum of Arts & Sciences on April 12 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM with live local music, food options, and a silent auction raising money for autism therapy scholarships plus community programs.   • The Miss America Organization is changing lives in Middle Georgia by giving Brooke Marshall and Mary Margaret Cooper platforms to share their passions. CRIME NEWS

  • The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney did not charge deputies in the death of inmate Stephen Fossett, and his family held a news conference on Thursday—expressing anger, highlighting failures in mental health care, and planning to seek a civil case for accountability.  41 WMGT

  • Macon Water Authority board member Elaine Lucas called for a grand jury investigation into the authority—she cited irregular acts behind the scenes, rising water rates, and presented a petition urging a full audit amid community opposition to the increases.  41 WMGT
