- ➤ The Georgia Army National Guard’s 48th Infantry Brigade will mark its 200th anniversary today at 10:00 a.m. in Macon at its Volunteer Headquarters on Shurling Drive—where a new monument will honor a long history of service and sacrifice. 13WMAZ
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Public Health released its Restaurant Report Card showing food service scores from April 14 to April 18 that range from unsatisfactory to perfect; Macon eateries and others in Middle Georgia are ranked by county and classified as scores below 70 unsatisfactory, scores from 70 to 99 satisfactory, and scores of 100 perfect + detailed results are available from the inspection report. 41 WMGT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Deputies responded to a shooting at a Macon apartment complex just after 10 a.m. today—two people were hospitalized. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Two people were injured in a shooting at Sandy Springs Apartments on Bloomfield Drive around 10:08 a.m.—Bibb County Sheriff's Office responded and the victims were taken to a local hospital where they remain critically but stable. WGXA
- ➤ Macon NAACP is asking for charges to be dropped against Lakeshia Jordan after a Bibb deputy failed to activate his body camera during a dispute at the DFCS office—Jordan said the officer used force when she was in a restricted area on her cell phone—an internal affairs investigation is underway. 13WMAZ
- ➤ A Johnson State Prison guard was arrested for allegedly taking part in the beating of two inmates and GDC is now investigating the incident. 13WMAZ

- ➤ Georgia game wardens work with the DNR to protect local ecosystems in Central Georgia— their efforts around Earth Day and every day help preserve natural habitats across the state. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Volunteers cleaned up Frankie E. Lewis Park on Tuesday to mark Earth Day — they used gloves, litter grabbers, and bags provided by Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful to remove trash and keep the park safe for local families. WGXA
