- ➤ Armstrong announced on April 25 that Aubrey VanHorn—Assistant Plant Manager at its largest ceiling manufacturing plant in Macon—was named a 2025 Women MAKE Awards honoree after receiving the award at a gala on April 24 in Washington, D.C. - ➤ Mercer University announced on Friday that President William Underwood is stepping down while he will continue at the university as a law professor. Underwood led the college since 2006 by growing enrollment and helping to revitalize downtown Macon, and the board has begun the search for his successor. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Twiggs County High School's Air Force Junior ROTC cadets launched their first-ever food drive + the effort gathered significant food donations for local families. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Alayah Miles, a second grader at Matilda Hartley Elementary, won first place in the state contest Young Georgia Authors with her book The Magic Pencil on Friday. A district literacy coach said this is the school's first state win in 20 years— a milestone for creative writing. WGXA
