- ➤ Habitat for Humanity has converted a burned property into three affordable homes for Macon-Bibb families, including Laquanda Ferguson who celebrated becoming a homeowner after being turned down twice—executive director Ivey Hall said the project will strengthen neighborhoods and support affordable home ownership. - ➤ A Warner Robins man riding a Harley Davidson was killed and a Chevrolet Avalanche driver was injured in a crash on Hawkinsville Road in Macon Tuesday morning—Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said lanes have reopened after the investigation. WGXA

- ➤ Randall Bramblett performed at Grant’s Lounge on April 25 from 8 to 11 p.m., and Macon’s music scene continues with upcoming shows—Mother’s Finest will perform at Society Garden on May 2 from 8 to 10 p.m., Tinsley Ellis will have two shows at Capricorn Sound Studios and Museum on May 3 starting at 6 and 8 p.m., Alice Cooper is set for a performance at Atrium Health Amphitheater on May 3 from 7:30 to 10 p.m., and Chris Knight will take the stage at Capitol Theatre on May 9 from 8 to 10 p.m. The Macon Newsroom

- ➤ Bibb County schools received about $85 to $90 million from local property taxes last year—making up nearly 40% of their funding as the Tax Assessor’s Office set property values to determine the millage rate. - ➤ Today, the Bibb County community gathered at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church to honor former commissioner and pastor Dr. Lonzy Edwards by unveiling a street sign that renames Millerfield Road as ‘Reverend Doctor Lonzy Edwards Way’—his service from 2007 to 2013 and earlier local tribute at Fire Station 22 acknowledge his lasting impact. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Starting May 5 at 6 a.m., Bibb County will resume issuing school zone speed camera citations only when yellow lights flash—drivers going at least 11 mph over the posted limit will receive a citation.
