- ➤ S&S Cafeteria on Riverside will reopen Friday nearly two years after a fire in September 2024 closed its kitchen. Owner Richard Pogue said updates include new seating, flooring and layout, and a food inspection on April 23 scored the location 100, with hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 41 WMGT
- ➤ ALDI is holding its highly anticipated grand opening today in Gray, marking its first store in Jones County. Local shoppers can look forward to fresh grocery options as the new location opens. 13WMAZ

- ➤ Twiggs County schools will cut education jobs for next school year due to a financial crisis and enrollment drop—Interim Superintendent Tyrone Bacon said the school board approved a phase-out resolution to study consolidating all grades into one PK-12 school amid rising budget pressures. WGXA
- ➤ Judge Ken Smith held a hearing at Bibb County School District headquarters on Mulberry Street in downtown Macon Wednesday (the discussion focused on a 2024 settlement with The Macon Melody), and his in camera review helped determine which dollar amounts linked to student education were exempt from open records disclosure.
