  • Macon community leaders have renewed recognition for rock icon Little Richard as the nation nears its 250th anniversary. Locals recall his humble start near the Tubman Museum and describe how his electrifying performances bridged racial divides — a legacy that shaped rock and roll.  41 WMGT

  • 7-year-old Grace got a mechanical heart device after a long hospital stay for her rare heart problem and was released early April to stay at Ronald McDonald House (near Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta) as she waits for a transplant; her mother said she is able to be a normal kid.  The Macon Melody

  • ACE’s Gryphons soccer teams advanced to the Elite Eight with playoff wins by both boys and girls teams. In his final season as coach — before becoming head of school — Robby Jones said strong character and long-term development have driven the teams’ success.  The Macon Melody
  • Monster Jam returned to Macon Coliseum on Friday, May 1 with intense racing, skills and freestyle competitions that drew families to the event. The show will continue today with another performance as safety crews ensured all drivers remained unharmed after a minor mishap.  WGXA
