CRIME NEWS

  • A man aged 62 was found shot on the 800 block of Key Street near Anthony Road in Unionville early Saturday morning and died at a local hospital.  13WMAZ
  • A 62-year-old man died after being shot early Saturday morning on Key Street when deputies arrived at 5:53 a.m. on May 24th and found him unresponsive from a gunshot wound—investigators are still looking into the incident.  41 WMGT
  • The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said two residents at Legacy at Wesleyan apartment complex were injured in a shooting just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday—one male and one female—and both are in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.  13WMAZ
  • Early Friday morning at about 12:15 a.m., a masked man in all black with a camouflage backpack robbed a Chevron gas station at 4987 Bloomfield Road by brandishing a gun at the store clerk before fleeing on foot toward Williamson Road—no injuries were reported and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.  13WMAZ

  • Georgia officials urge boaters and swimmers to wear life jackets and avoid alcohol on busy waterways this Memorial Day weekend — Mark McKinnon of the Department of Natural Resources said children under 13 must wear life jackets and extra game wardens will patrol to keep everyone safe — as the state prepares for increased traffic on its lakes and rivers.  13WMAZ
