- ➤ On May 23, a Macon teacher and advocate hosted Khaza’s Heart at John R. Lewis Elementary (a community school) to honor her late son and bring families together with free food and vendors (including face painting). Burse plans to launch a non-profit for mental health and future events. WGXA
- ➤ Float Daze urges Memorial Day floaters to check river conditions, wear life vests, and travel with a buddy as Ocmulgee waters can quickly change from shallow to deep. The group advises knowing exit points for a safe outing today. 13WMAZ
- ➤ A Memorial Day event at Andersonville National Cemetery involved placing over 20,000 American flags on veterans' graves Saturday morning (a ceremony that honored fallen heroes with Boy Scout troops and local families participating).
