  • Drivers in downtown Fort Valley enjoyed re-opening access to the U.S. 341 railroad crossing after more than two years of construction costing about $4.2 million — officials say the upgrade eases congestion. A ribbon-cutting event held Friday marked the project’s completion.  13WMAZ
  • Yesterday, Sardis-Heard Funeral Home held a Memorial Day service in Macon to honor veterans who died in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. Retired Marine Corps veteran Jeramie Frasure urged residents to remember the sacrifices made for the country.  41 WMGT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Georgia lawmakers passed House Bill 1009 to extend public school cell phone restrictions to include high school students, with full enforcement beginning in 2027.
