- ➤ Macon community members remembered their fallen soldiers on Memorial Day as the Macon Cemetery Preservation Corporation held its annual ceremony. Lt. Col. Natoshia Williams and Phyllis Nathan-Brown spoke about honoring the sacrifice of service members — urging everyone to live fully in the memory of those who died. WGXA

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Houston County recorded 10 homicides in 2025 with most linked to domestic violence, including a Sunday double homicide where a daughter's boyfriend killed Virginia Boston, 49, and Ra'Dashia Boston, 29—showing these acts were not random. 13WMAZ
- ➤ A mother and daughter were killed in a Houston County double homicide — Crisp County authorities arrested a 29-year-old man on two counts of murder. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Bibb County deputies responded at 5:53 a.m. on Saturday to reports of a shooting near the 800 block of Key Street in Macon and found a 62-year-old man with a gunshot wound who later died, while the investigation remains ongoing. WGXA
- ➤ Officers in Warner Robins responded to an apartment on the 200 block of Woodland Trail where two women—29-year-old Re’Dashia Boston and her 49-year-old mother Virginia Boston—were found dead, and investigators have charged 29-year-old Rashad Williams with their murders. WGXA

- ➤ Bibb County spokesman Chris Floore said public access points on the Ocmulgee River remained closed on Monday at 11:30 a.m. because the river flowed at 2,014 cubic feet per second—above the 2,000 cubic feet per second threshold needed for safe use. Amerson River Park stayed open as the river height remained normal, but officials warned that rising levels might lead to partial closures later this week. 13WMAZ
