- ➤ On May 26, 2024, Bibb County deputies found Albert Knight dead with his head bashed in an alley near Poplar and Second Streets, and one year later his son Kenney Knight—who recently became a dad—shared memories to show that his father was more than his struggles with addiction and homelessness as he awaits justice in the case. 13WMAZ
- ➤ This week Middle Georgia hosts a range of events from glassblowing classes and cookbook club picnics to live music shows and community walks scheduled from today through June 22nd. - ➤ A 38-year-old inmate died after collapsing in Bibb County Jail just before midnight Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. 13WMAZ
- ➤ A 36-year-old inmate collapsed in his cell late Saturday night and was taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment before being pronounced dead as the sheriff’s office prepares for an autopsy. 41 WMGT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The National Weather Service in Peachtree City extended a flood warning for the Ocmulgee River near Macon until late tonight—minor flooding is affecting areas along the Macon Greenway Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, Charles Jones Gateway Park, and nearby agricultural lands in Twiggs, Monroe, Houston, Jones, and Bibb Counties, so residents should exercise caution near the riverbanks.
