- ➤ Deputies responded just after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night to a shooting on the 3300 block of Majestic Lane and found 21-year-old Couri Woodford Jr fatally wounded—authorities later arrested 43-year-old Pierce Williams as the investigation continues. 41 WMGT

- ➤ The Fort Hawkins historic blockhouse in east Macon shows damage from falling concrete—exposing rebar and raising safety concerns—and preservationists plan to consult experts soon to decide on repairs. The site, a 1930s reconstruction of an 1806 trading outpost, remains open for tours on Saturdays. 13WMAZ

- ➤ Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller announced that billions in projects will be advanced with private investments, a new hotel tax & SPLOST funds as part of the nearly $220 million Fiscal Year 2026 general fund, which supports upgrades to jails, housing, and public safety.
