- ➤ Downtown Macon restaurants will serve unique fry specials from July 9 to 11 in a French Fry Fight designed to boost summer foot traffic, and twenty-three eateries will compete for the Super Spud award. - ➤ County officials said access to the Ocmulgee River at Amerson River Park reopened Friday morning (water flow dropped below 2,000 cubic feet per second) as residents enjoyed Fourth of July celebrations, and they warned that access will close if water speeds become unsafe. 41 WMGT
