Downtown Macon’s French Fry Fight takes place today through Friday with over 20 restaurants serving unique fry dishes for the Super Spud Trophy & customers voting to crown a champion.

Registration is open for Girls Dig Deeper Initiative’s third Summer in the City Learning Experience from Jul.

The Georgia Department of Public Health released Middle Georgia food service inspection scores from June 29 to July 3.
The report shows restaurants in Macon and nearby counties received ratings that ranged from unsatisfactory to perfect (scores below 70 were unsatisfactory, while some achieved 100).
Peach County EMS now offers residents the chance to borrow AEDs (automated external defibrillators) for large events, adding a valuable tool for quick response and community safety.

Atrium Health Navicent urges residents in Macon to stay safe during summer heat by drinking water frequently and avoiding midday outdoor activity.
The hospital recommends early morning or later evening outings and using electrolyte drinks (instead of caffeinated, sugary beverages) to reduce risk of heat illness.
