- ➤ The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority received a 2025 AARP grant to convert a vacant downtown lot at Fifth and Poplar into Spirit of Macon Park that will offer wellness classes, safe spaces, and activities for all ages. - ➤ Jamie Thomas—33 years old from Macon—was arrested in Forsyth on Tuesday during a traffic stop after deputies detected a marijuana odor and found 21.1 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle; he is held without bond while investigators continue their work. WGXA
- ➤ A Forsyth man, 54-year-old Tommy Thomason, is out on bond after he allegedly scammed a Marietta man out of $35,000 by selling land he did not own on Zellner Road on July 14 — the Monroe County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation. WGXA
- ➤ Investigators are seeking tips after over $19,000 worth of tools and equipment were stolen from an outbuilding on a property off Zellner Road in Forsyth between July 7 and 19 — the Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft. WGXA
