- ➤ A 92-year-old Macon man—George Clay—is donating four acres on Estes Road to the fire department that saved his life in 1980 when a tractor accident occurred. His donation will help build a new fire station and public safety center that will be named after him. 13WMAZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Willis Jermaine Curry Jr., a Perry man with seven previous felony convictions, pled guilty on Thursday to stealing a car from the La Quinta Inn parking lot on Plaza Drive on June 18 and fleeing from police at high speeds through multiple counties, and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison with five years of probation that bans him from Houston County. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Willis Jermaine Curry Jr., a 59-year-old from Perry with multiple felonies, was sentenced to 20 years after pleading guilty on September 4 in Houston County Superior Court for stealing a 2023 Kia Sorento from a La Quinta Inn and leading a high-speed chase that reached over 100 mph—officers from several counties used a PIT maneuver to end his pursuit and he is banned from Houston County. 41 WMGT
