ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Kelvin Howard, a 13-year-old football player at Appling Middle School in Macon, was injured on Oct 4, suffering a severe spinal injury, brain fracture and hip injuries and remains in the ICU at Children's Healthcare—doctors say he will need months of intensive rehabilitation while his community rallies in support. 13WMAZ

- ➤ The Middle Georgia Regional Library System held a grand opening of the new Cathy Ivey Community Library on Monday at 5494 Forsyth Road in north Macon, honoring longtime volunteer Catherine Ivey. The $2.4 million project expands access to literacy for families, students and seniors—funded by state repair dollars, the Macon-Bibb County board and local donors. 41 WMGT
- ➤ Two Bibb County high school students were chosen to serve on the Georgia State Superintendent’s 2025–2026 Student Advisory Council. Loymiela Thomas from Southwest High and Jaiden Geolingo from Howard High were selected from over 1,200 state applicants and will meet regularly during the school year to offer student views. 41 WMGT
- ➤ Bibb County officials reported that school absences are higher on Fridays and Mondays after holiday breaks — the district will launch new initiatives to address this trend. 13WMAZ
