- ➤ Tickets are on sale for Monster Jam at Macon Coliseum on May 1 and 2— the event will feature world-class drivers performing high-flying stunts and the debut of Sparkle Smash. Families can also enjoy a pit party on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Middle Georgia Times
- ➤ Trinabell’s Diner in Gray is offering free meals to children 17 and under as SNAP benefits have been suspended since November 1 to help families facing food insecurity. Server Ashley Walters said the offer will continue until the benefits resume — the diner expects more foot traffic while providing essential support to local families. 41 WMGT
- ➤ Macon Smiles is hosting its annual Halloween Candy Buyback to help kids lower candy intake and support troops overseas—staff have collected 18 pounds so far and hope to reach 150 pounds before the program ends on Thursday. - ➤ Jim Webb released a schedule of live music events in Middle Georgia set from November 4th through November 9th — featuring shows in Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville and other towns. - ➤ Tom Johnson, once press secretary and CNN president, recalled his early days at The Macon Telegraph as a high school student and laid out how his hometown shaped his career in his new memoir — Driven — which he calls a love letter to Macon. - ➤ Bibb County voters approved a $250 million education sales tax to fund renovations and technology upgrades for local schools — 73.8% of 19,356 voters supported the measure. The district will build on past ESPLOST efforts to update classrooms and facilities. The Macon Melody
- ➤ Mercer University and Macon-Bibb County are holding a ceremonial groundbreaking this Friday at 10:30 a.m. at 801 Riverside Drive for the new downtown medical school building, with construction scheduled to finish in Fall 2028—this project is part of a broader downtown development plan. 13WMAZ

- ➤ On Monday, the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department received photos of its first fire truck from 1910 that crashed on its first run when a tire blew out and killed three firefighters. Sandra Aronson donated the pictures in memory of her late parents and former captain Jimmy McCallum — they believed the truck's history should be shared. 41 WMGT

- ➤ A recent study by the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy shows that rural Georgians often drive more than an hour to get the early Alzheimer’s diagnosis needed for treatment. - ➤ Piedmont Macon will host a free diabetes conference on November 13 at Forest Hills Church — 1217 Forest Hill Road — where local medical professionals will lead sessions on diabetes care, medication management, and nutrition while lunch is provided and registration is required. 41 WMGT
