  • Ed Grisamore’s Local Knowledge puzzle challenges Macon readers to match local figures with their high schools, restaurants with hometowns, and high school nicknames. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Macon-Bibb leaders, including Mayor Lester Miller, met in Japan with Gov. Brian Kemp and the president of YKK Corporation to strengthen a nearly 50-year sister city bond with Kurobe.   • During Macon Burger Week, 551 hospitality introduced Ocmulgee Brewpub’s Umami Burger—a miso mushroom and swiss burger topped with a dumpling sauce aioli that upgrades onions and mushrooms with white miso.   • The Macon Touchdown Club honored three GIAA student athletes last Friday—FPD Senior Brady McHugh earned Back of the Week with 146 yards and 4 touchdowns, Junior Graham Moore was named Lineman of the Week with 12 tackles and an interception, and Stratford Junior George Dunn received Special Teams Player of the Week with a 48-yard punt average—in wins over Strong Rock and Calvary Christian.  41 WMGT
