  • Heritage Elementary in Macon is preparing Meals-In-A-Bag kits with donated ingredients and recipe cards to help over 150 households fight holiday hunger—tripling its planned distribution from 50 families thanks to staff, churches and community partners. The kits, which include items to feed a family of four, will begin distribution on Thursday.  41 WMGT
  • Bibb Schools have reported growth in CCRPI scores — the latest report shows Ingram-Pye making notable gains, signaling improved student performance in the district.  13WMAZ

  • Central Georgia faces a wave of brush fires as statewide dry conditions persist—officials are monitoring the situation and advising caution.  13WMAZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday the Warner Robins City Council renewed a state-mandated PTSD health insurance plan that gives first responders financial help and mental health support after traumatic calls — the plan costs about $37,000 for one year and covers both police officers and firefighters.  13WMAZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Westside Seminoles remain undefeated at 14-0 and will play two more games to secure first place in Division 2 Area 3 under coach Josh Grube—who also leads the boys basketball team. Star receiver Dominique Billue has boosted the team’s performance as they aim for a second straight undefeated season.  The Macon Melody
  • Three Raiders players received awards at the weekly Macon Touchdown Club meeting following their 41-0 playoff win over Fannin County Monday night. Kortnei Williams earned Back of the Week for his 214 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns while Maurice Wilson and Demonta Dunn were recognized for defense and special teams.  41 WMGT
  • Mercer clinched its second consecutive Southern Conference title on Saturday by defeating Chattanooga 63—17 at Five Star Stadium, earning an automatic playoff berth. The Bears, led by record setting freshman quarterback Braden Atkinson who broke both single season and career passing records, will face Auburn in a non-conference finale at 2 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium.  41 WMGT
