- ➤ Local advocate Yolanda Lattimore said youth violence in Macon is rising as many teens face deep trauma and pressure from a lack of guidance and support. She started Poetic Piece Arts to give young people creative ways—such as poetry, song and dance—to cope with their struggles. 41 WMGT
- ➤ A Macon woman in Shirley Hills, Kigin Hill, is calling for more help from Bibb County Animal Services as stray dogs increase in her area — she said limited resources and slow response leave abandoned and malnourished dogs without timely care. - ➤ The Tubman Museum hosted a ceremony on Nov. 14 to open an exhibit honoring late Tina McElroy Ansa, a Macon native and trailblazer in journalism—AJC’s first Black journalist—who paved the way for women writers. - ➤ Macon-Bibb County commissioners approved naming a block on Third Street as Josh Rogers Way to honor the late NewTown Macon CEO who led major redevelopment before his death in 2024—this section between Poplar and Cherry will carry the new name starting in 2026 with a formal dedication and future plans to be announced. 41 WMGT

- ➤ Piedmont Macon is preparing for the Great American Smokeout on November 20 as Dr. Charles Teames at Piedmont Macon Medical Center warned that smoking & vaping pose major health risks and advised residents to seek support when quitting. 41 WMGT
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Public Health released restaurant inspection scores for Middle Georgia food service establishments from November 10 to November 14. The report shows unsatisfactory scores of 69 and below marked in red and perfect scores of 100 marked in green—details are provided by county. 41 WMGT
