- ➤ Veterans High School Chick-fil-A Leader Academy raised nearly $5K from donations to fund a shopping spree for elementary students, and each child received a $100 gift card during the event. WPGA News
- ➤ Local business owners near the abandoned Anderson Diner building on Pio Nono Avenue report ongoing trash, encampments, and stray pets affecting the neighborhood's appeal. - ➤ The Perry High School band will travel to New Orleans after Christmas for the Sugar Bowl Parade on New Year’s Eve — 108 students will perform in national competitions after months of practice and fundraising. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Byron Elementary was named state champion in the Prodigy State Challenge on Dec. 15 and will celebrate on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m. Its students answered more math questions than any school in the Mythical medium tier, earning a finals spot and tech grant rewards (over $200K). Middle Georgia Times

- ➤ Jones County Sheriff's Office launched its Second Chance Employer program earlier this year to reduce reoffending by connecting ex-felons with local employers. More than 10 businesses, including Robert Bentley Roofing, have joined the initiative to help people rebuild their lives. 13WMAZ
